Real Stories from Real Families

What Families Are Saying

Mornings were easy because she was excited to go every day.

We first joined when our daughter was 4 years old. From the very beginning, she walked into class without hesitation — and that kind of comfort said everything about the environment and how welcomed and safe she felt every single day.

Luz M., parent

She is growing both academically and in her faith.

The staff are attentive, dedicated, and passionate. The classroom is engaging and encourages a real love of learning, centered on biblical principles. We are grateful for the strong foundation she is building here.

Jane, parent

Instead of just being a follower, he has become a leader.

Our son is in second grade. We transferred him because we wanted him to learn about God, and we can already see how he's improved — making good choices, becoming more independent, and even teaching us how to live a Christian life.

Lynda & Gunawan, parents

She's grown in both confidence and her love for learning.

Our daughter has attended since TK. We love the small class sizes — students receive individualized attention and meaningful support. The hands-on approach keeps students engaged, and we truly appreciate the time and care the teachers give to each child.

Keisha, parent

It truly felt like he had second moms looking after him.

Our son joined the infant program at just 6 months old. Leaving a baby in someone else's care is never easy, but his teachers cared for him with so much attention and warmth that we had complete peace of mind. We'd even get random photos throughout the day — small moments that showed how present the teachers really were.

Luz M., parent

A wonderful place of learning.

It's a small school with small class sizes, so the children receive a great deal of individual attention. My son loves this school.

Still Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my family and I have to be Seventh-day Adventist or Christian to enroll?

No. Simi Valley Elementary is a Christ-centered school with a Bible-based curriculum, but families of all faiths are warmly welcomed. Many of our families come from different backgrounds and are drawn to the values, character development, and safe environment we offer.

What grades do you serve?

We serve students from infant care and preschool through 8th grade, with elementary classes from TK–8 on our Simi Valley campus. Preschool is offered through our partner site, Foundations Preschool.

How much is tuition?

Tuition is billed monthly over 10 months:

  • TK–1st: $575/month
  • 2nd–6th: $600/month
  • 7th–8th: $625/month

We also offer several tuition discounts, including a 10% discount for paid-in-full, sibling discounts, and discounts for church members, hospital employees, and volunteering parents. Full pricing details are shared during your tour.

What makes Foundations Academy different from other private schools?

Three things our families consistently mention: small class sizes with individualized instruction, a safe and bully-free environment, and credentialed teachers delivering a curriculum that runs ahead of California state standards. We also offer Spanish, music instruction, drama, and PE — and our tuition is more accessible than most private schools in the area.

Is your campus safe? How do you handle bullying?

Safety is one of our highest priorities. We maintain a secure campus with a strong character development program built into daily instruction. Our small class sizes mean every child is known by name and seen every day — which is the most effective bullying prevention there is.

How big are your classes?

We intentionally keep class sizes small so teachers can give every student individualized attention. This is one of the biggest reasons families switch to us from public schools or larger private schools.

When can I enroll? Have I missed the deadline?

We offer open enrollment year-round, so you can apply at any time. The next school year begins August 12. Seats are limited in several grade levels, so we recommend touring soon if you're considering a fall start.

What does the enrollment process look like?

It's simple: submit an inquiry on this page → schedule a campus tour → meet the principal and see classrooms in action → complete your application. Most families complete the full process in under two weeks.

Where are you located, and how far do families typically drive?

We're located at 1636 Sinaloa Rd in Simi Valley, serving families across western Simi Valley and the northern Thousand Oaks area. Most of our families live within 15–20 minutes of campus.

Do you offer extracurriculars and electives?

Yes — every student gets access to Spanish, music with instruction, drama, and physical education as part of our standard program. We also have a large indoor gym for year-round activities. (Note: we do not currently offer after-school competitive sports.)
